  TAKING EFFECTIVE NOTES   Why take notes ? o    Helps us to pay attention in class. o    Helps us take ownership of ideas. o    Helps us improve our memory. o    Helps us organize and process data and information.   HOW TO TAKE LECTURE NOTES Before class ·          Review the notes from the day before. ·          Review your reading assignment. ·          Make sure all stationary ( paper , text ,pens , handout) enough. While taking notes ·          Be an aggressive , not a passive listener. ·          Ask question and discuss if its permitted , if not , jot question in notes. ·          Seek out meaing. There are three major processes involved in  memory : encoding, storage, and retrieval.                                GETTING READY TO LEARN   Making the transition from a school to university There are a lot differences between being a high school student and a university student . One of the differences is   if   school life the teacher will pay attention and monitor you.   While in university life , it depends on yourself , if you want to success you need to study harder , the lecturer   won’t push you.
